About
As a photographer and a semi geek, I started to research SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for my website. I spent hours on the web trying to find answers to my questions, without becoming a full webmaster. To be honest search engines are not going to tell you exactly what to do — thought it would be nice.
In my research I found tons of companies that promise you a great ranking if you buy their services. Their promise was that for just one payment of $300 I could instantly improve my rankings, being the skeptic that I am I had to think long and hard about this. In the end I learned that I did not need their services. With just a bit of work I found ways to help my rankings, that only required my time to make them happen.
The result of this journey was the Field Guide. Even though I am no longer updating this blog or the field guide many of hte principals that I have talked about are still the foundation to good solid SEO. Keep blogging, registar your site with search engines, find ways to get solid link backs and you have a wining formula for better SEO.
